Internet Marketing: Ebay Profits

Make Money Online Work At Home Internet Marketing: Ebay Profits

People have made themselves rich through selling on eBay. How did they do it? Well, they probably had some moments of trial and error, but learned a strategy that worked for them.

What do people see when they look at listings at auction? They see pictures of your item for sale. The pictures give one dimension to your auction item, but words will draw in the bidders.

Look at a few auction listings on eBay. What attracts you to the ones you click on to find out more information? If you are doing a general search for an item in a search engine, you may get several eBay items in the search results.

Here are some ideas for using your description to its fullest to improve the number of bidders participating in your auctions.

1. Do your research. It is important to know what words people will enter into search engines to find your product. If you are selling an NFL jersey, think of the obvious and the obscure words. Words like “jersey” and “NFL” are common; however, using the player’s name or his number will refine the search and bring up fewer results and one of those might be your auction listing.

2. Find your keywords. Keywords are quite effective and drive the search parameters. When you get too many results with one word, you add other words to find what you are looking for. Use the highest ranked keywords you found in your research to make your item descriptions stand out from the others.

3. Choose a title featuring keywords. Before the potential buyers even get to the description, they have to want to read further. Use your most effective keywords plus a few well-placed adjectives to state what you are selling. Embolden the entire thing for easier reading.

4. Match keywords with descriptive terms. The keywords alone are not enough. To make them pop, add description in as few words as possible. Instead of listing an NFL jersey, describe it. Someone will be more interested in “Donovan McNabb Eagles jersey” or “Green Vintage stitched Eagles jersey.” They now know exactly what they are getting.

5. Keep it short and sweet. No one wants to read a short story description of a product. In short snippets, summarize the best features of your item. People get lost reading on a computer screen so keep your words to one side of the page and large enough for easy reading.

6. Use bulleted points. Eyes gravitate towards what stands out. Even with bullets, don’t use too many words. You don’t want to lose the attention span of your potential bidders.

Part of getting people to bid on your auction items is getting their attention in the first place. With bold keyword titles and short bursts of description, entice them to read more and hopefully you'll make a sale.
